GREYHOUND FOOTBALL
The Greyhounds are scheduled to begin spring practice April 19, and three additions to the coaching staff, two on the offensive side of the ball, have been announced.
Daniel Brinson, who was most recently on staff at Lowndes County, has been announced as offensive line coach, with Kevin Patterson assuming the role of both strength and conditioning coach while also coaching wide receivers. Tavarus Horton has also been announced as a defensive assistant.
Brinson’s arrival fills the void left by Jay Floyd, who previously coached the Greyhounds offensive line and handled strength and conditioning. Jones County previously announced Will Conner as defensive coordinator, replacing Robert Braucht after he departed to be the head coach at North Springs.
Brinson was on staff with the Vikings from 2020-22 as Lowndes advanced to the semifinals and quarterfinals in back-to-back seasons. He proposed to his wife, Kayla, following the Vikings’ spring scrimmage in 2021. His playing includes Colquitt County High School under thenhead coach Rush Probst in addition to LaGrange College – Brad Harrison
