Smart, Bulldogs look to stay perfect in Nashville

After handedly defeating the No. 20 ranked Kentucky Wildcats in Sanford Stadium last Saturday, the Georgia Bulldogs now prepare to travel to Nashville this weekend.
Jones County High School’s competition cheerleaders set a season-high score once again on Saturday at Ola as they finished third. The day also saw the middle school team close out its season with a strong performance. The high school competition team competes again Oct. 28 at McIntosh which will also host the region meet on Nov. 4. CONTRIBUTED

A league title belongs to Jones County’s middle school runners after last week’s Georgia Middle School Athletic League championship saw three Jones County runners finish in the top nine to propel the way to finish first place overall in a meet held at Greyhound Park.

The Volley Hounds continued to show that they can hang with the upper half of teams in their region last week. Now comes the time for all of the pieces to come together when it matters most. The region meet begins this week for Jones County on Thursday with the final round on Saturday.

Jones County High School held its homecoming dance in the later hours on Friday night, but plenty of dancing had already taken place well before that, as the Greyhounds danced over and around Eagles Landing in a dominant 48-15 win.
