An additional layer of summer all-star baseball and softball district tournaments continued last week, including two hosted by Jones County.A pair of softball tournaments were staged at Morris Bank Recreation Complex in the 8-10 and little league age groups.

Out in the heat of the summer, offseason workouts are underway on the softball diamond for the Lady Greyhounds coming off a season in which they fought their way through a competitive group of frontrunners in the region to get into the state playoffs.
