The Marching Greyhounds brought home high ratings at their first competition of the season Oct. 5 at the Coastal Empire Classic in Effingham County. Jones County earned straight superior ratings for a final score of 88.

Carson Beck and Arian Smith enjoyed career highs in Georgia’s 41-31 win over Mississippi State.Both played key roles on the offensive side of the ball for the No. 5 Bulldogs (5-1, 3-1 SEC).Beck helped Georgia’s offense thrive through the air by completing 36 of 48 passes for a career-high 459 yards.

The job at hand was pretty direct for the Lady Greyhounds last week. They needed three wins in four games in a span of three days to protect their spot in the region standings and clinch a spot in the GHSA Class AAAA state playoffs.Mission accomplished.
