Jones County High School’s football cheerleaders will host their future cheerleading clinic from 6:30-8 p.m. Sept. 11. Open to ages pre-k through fifth grade, the cost is $35 with payment via GoFan. The deadline for payment is Aug. 30.

History was made Friday night at Greyhound Field, as Jones County opened the season with a 41-26 win against Veterans. With the win, JCHS head coach Mike Chastain became the winningest football coach in school history.The Hounds open region play next Friday at home against Woodland Stockbridge.

FORSYTH - The Lady Greyhounds began their season last week with a pair of match victories, taking one win against a determined opponent and another being the first-ever win against an opponent faced multiple times in the past.

FORSYTH - Full padded, the Greyhounds put a summer of workouts in the mirror on Friday when they got the closest thing to a game environment since the spring game when they took on Mary Persons on Friday in a preseason scrimmage.
