All ticket sales are on GoFanJones County High School has announced that all event ticket sales, starting with the 2024-25 season, will be sold through GoFan. Cash payment will no longer be accepted at gates for admission.

Before dawn on Monday morning, the sun had already risen on the preseason window of practice for the Greyhounds.Less than two weeks before an Aug. 9 preseason scrimmage against Mary Persons, Jones County took the field on Monday on the first day that teams are permitted to practice in full pads.

There’ll be a new way for cross country to qualify for the GHSA state meet this year, and that path will literally run directly through Jones County.In previous years, the top four teams from each region qualified for state.

Since starting the school’s volleyball program in 2020, the Lady Greyhounds have improved each season.The next step on that path begins soon for the Volley Hounds, who open the season Aug. 6 at Mary Persons with the first home match scheduled for Aug. 13 against Houston County.

Georgia quarterback Carson Beck is primed for a big season in Athens, with Heisman Trophy hopes on the line. Earlier this week, Las Vegas oddsmakers named Beck one of the frontrunners to win college football’s most coveted individual award, giving the Jacksonville, Fla.
After sweating it out in the heat of July, a small slice of what to expect from the Marching Greyhounds was put on display last Tuesday. After working to come together as a unit during the course of band camp, the Marching Greyhounds hosted their annual friends and family night, showing off their progress toward this fall’s on-field show, titled “Legendary,” that will have a theme geared toward the story of a contending fighter and their journey toward being a champion.
