For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Rom 10:13)
Maybe you are reading this article and you are not saved. Easter has just passed and Easter is all about salvation. Jesus came to seek and save those who are lost. He said so (Lk 19:10). This was His purpose in leaving the glory of Heaven and coming to this earth. To seek and save the lost.
He desires to restore the fellowship between us and the Father, fellowship that was broken by sin. Jesus’ blood washes away that sin and the fellowship is restored. And Jesus made it easy--for us. He did all the work. He suffered the wrath against sin in our place. He hung on the cross. He did all that was needed to seek and save the lost.
Our part is to repent and simply call on His name. To ask Him to save us. He won’t force salvation on us. It is our free choice to make. And it doesn’t matter who you are or how deep in sin you are. Jesus can save to the uttermost (Heb 7:25), or as one preacher put it “to the gutter most”. His blood washes away ALL sin. Not some. Not parts. But all sin (I Jn 1:7).
You can call on Him right now, right where you are. No appointment is needed. You don’t have to understand it all, just that you know you need to be saved and that Jesus will save you. And if you call on Him to save you He promises to do just that; you shall be saved. So go ahead. Jesus is waiting on your call.
