Darrell Partee is the local veteran of the week. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1969, with a tour of duty in the Republic of South Vietnam.

Anyone familiar with Jones County knows that is seems there are too many Greenes and Jacksons here to count. In late June, the two names were ‘joined as one’ in a ceremony in Round Oak.

BOE sets budget for 2024-25 school year

The Jones County Board of Education held its third and final budget hearing for the next school year prior to adopting the 2025 budget the last week of June.Board Chairman Ginger Bailey called the June 27 meeting to order. The meeting was advertised as a work session as well as a public hearing.

TK Med Spa hosts July 13 extravaganza for community

TK Med Spa held a July 13th Extravaganza Saturday to sponsor dogs to get them adopted and help support local businesses in the community.Tory Etheridge, the owner of TK Med Spa, said she was excited for the event, and that she was able to help others in the Jones County community in some way.
