American Legion Post 142 held a drawing for its raffle of a Henry Golden Boy Rifle July 13 at Carol’s Park. The first-place winner of the raffle was Ronnie Hinson. Jimmy Crutchfield won second place, which was $300, and Bill Newby won $200 for third place. Gray Police Lt.

Gray resident celebrates 100 years

Erlinda Collins, a resident of Gray who lives at Autumn Lane Health and Rehabilitation, turned 100 years old recently and celebrated with family and friends.Denise Collins Lumpkin, Erlinda’s daughter who lives in Gray was happy to be celebrating her mother’s birthday at Autumn Lane with everyone.

‘Cop camp’ a big hit for kids and officers

Summer camp is back at the Jones County Sheriff’s Office, and it is safe to say a good time was had by all, including campers and staff.The JCSO “Cop Camp,” as the kids called it, started June 11 and ended June 14. Each day was filled with activities that were fun, but most were also educational.
