“The LORD preserveth all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy” (Ps 145:20) God is generous to His children, those who love Him, those born again through faith in Jesus. In that generosity, God preserves, protects, watches over His kids. He will help in times of trouble.

Friends of the Library plans next used book sale

The Jones County Friends of the Library has a used book sale every second Saturday of the month, and they want to remind people their next used book sale will be June 11.

Local author has book signing to share the Holy Spirit

One of Jones County’s newes authors, Dorothy Combs, had a book signing at Greenwood Baptist Church May 7 to promote her book Holy Spirit Calling. Combs said she was born in South Georgia and her husband Richard was born in Oklahoma City. She said they met in Okinawa, Japan.

Old Clinton War Days visits the past

Cannons blasted and guns fired in Clinton April 30 and May 1, signaling the re-enactment of the Battle of Sunshine Church and the Battle of Griswoldville, as Old Clinton War Days took place once again. J.C.

When people find out that I own horses I often times hear “That’s so cool. I’ve always wanted to have horses.” In reality owning horses is really cool and rewarding. Horses are fascinating animals who have unique personalities, behaviors, and habits.

Bingo planned Friday to support Special Olympics

After a more than two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, Bingo is back at the Jones County Fairgrounds Friday night. The May 13 event is a fundraiser for the Jones County High School Unified Program and begins with a spaghetti dinner at 6 p.m. Bingo begins at 7 p.m.
