Schools compete in regional Science Olympiad

Jones County Elementary Schools competed in the Middle Georgia RESA Regional Elementary Science Olympiad at Perry High School on March 16th. All four school teams represented Jones County well, winning medals and ribbons in multiple events.

County receives unexpected road funds

Jones County Commissioners took care of business at their first Tuesday April meeting, including the unexpected receipt of almost a million dollars in state funds for road projects.Board Chairman Chris Weidner called the April 2 meeting to order, and Tim Ingram led the opening prayer and pledge.

Stitch ‘n’ Such event showcases women’s history

Stitch ‘n’ Such, a sewing group at the Jones County Public Library, showcased the history of sewing for Women’s History Month.Angie Hunt, who leads the group, said she was excited to start Stitch ‘n’ Such at the library. She said showcasing the history of sewing skills is important.
