The Kiwanis Club of Jones County presented Scout Troop 485 with a check for $5,000 representing part of the proceeds from the Francis Golson Memorial Golf Tournament. Over $2,000 will be given to the Eston Altman Scouting Center.

Barnesville man pleads guilty to threatening public officials

A Middle Georgia man with a history of arson and sending death threats – including against Jones County officials – pleaded guilty in federal court Friday to mailing threatening communications to government officials.
