New gun charge sends accused shooter back to jail

A Jones County Superior Court Judge revoked bond for a defendant facing 11 charges of aggravated assault in Jones County as well as felony charges in at least two other counties.
Tyshun Amire Gilmore, 19, was in court July 27 for the state’s motion to revoke his bond.

Revised boundaries for Main Street Gray were adopted by the Gray Downtown Development Authority in June and will be presented to the city council at its August meeting.

Council members welcomed a new deputy city clerk and received a draft of a brewery ordinance at their July meeting of all committees.

McSwain moving from DA’s office to law school

The road to law school had a few curves for a young Jones County woman and included hands-on experience in the Ocmulgee Circuit District Attorney’s office.
Elayna McSwain will celebrate her 23rd birthday by starting Mercer Law School Aug. 14.

Accused traffickers granted $80K bonds, banned from region

Two defendants charged with drug trafficking were granted bonds in the amount of $80,000 and banned from the Ocmulgee Court Circuit in Jones County Superior Court.

County handles zoning issues, hears Haddock requests

Planning and Zoning requests took up the majority of a Board of Commissioners meeting that took place with a full house.
The July 18 meeting was called to order by Board Chairman Chris Weidner. The opening prayer and pledge were led by Donald Black.
