Jones County Commissioners celebrated a Dames Ferry student before getting down to county business at their June meeting. Chairman Chris Weidner called the June 6 meeting to order, and Emergency Management Director and Jones County Fire Chief Don Graham led the pledge and opening prayer.

13-year-old Jones Countian becomes author

Luke Deeb, a 13-year-old local Jones Countian, wrote his own book and is ready to show it off to the community. Ashley Deeb, Luke’s mother, said they have lived in Jones County their entire lives, and she’s attended First Baptist Church since she was a baby.
