Anthony S. Vinson Sr. is the local Veteran of the Week. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1984 - 1988. He completed basic training at Parris Island, South Carolina, and was honorably discharged as a corporal. His honors included Marine of the Month, Marine of the Quarter, Good Conduct Medal, two Sea Service Deployment Ribbons, two Letters of Appreciation and three Certificates of Appreciation.
