Lois Marie Eichhorn Avant, age 75, of Hillsboro, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2022, at her residence. Lois Avant was born in Mount Pleasant, Michigan to the late John Francis Eichhorn and Leona Esther Boulton Eichhorn. She married the late Herman “Buddy” Robert Avant on September 7, 1969. Before retirement, she worked as a Registered Nurse and worked in numerous hospitals while following Herman during his twenty-one years in the United State Air Force. Her last job she worked was at Navicent Health in Milledgeville, Georgia. Before Buddy retired, they lived in Panama City, Florida before moving to Hillsboro in 1994. Lois was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church. She was a member of the Project Linus and Busy Bees sewing club and the Loraine Dumas Outreach Ministry in Hillsboro. She is survived by her son, Mark Edward (Beverly) Avant of Monticello; daughter, Michelle Lynn (Gerald) Nelson of Panama City, Florida; grandchildren, Justin Groover, Amber Moore Littell, Trey Moore and Kirsten Ashley Parrott; great grandchildren, Adriana Lucille Littell, Skye Elizabeth Vagg, Talia Rae Thomason and Nova Lena Marie Hasselriis; brother, Michael Ray (Maria Clemencia “Cleme”) Eichhorn of Ohio; and a number of nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at the Chapel of Jordan Funeral Home. Rev. Harold Thompson will officiate.
