Barbara “Dianne” “Dana” Byrd of Macon passed away Thursday Oct. 13, 2022. A memorial service will be held Saturday Nov. 5, 2022, at 10:30 am at The Society Garden, 2389 Ingleside Ave. in Macon.
Dianne was born Aug. 26, 1950. Her spirit is carried on by her daughter Courtney Caldwell, son-in-law Troy Caldwell, three grandchildren Charlie, Caymin, and Colbie Caldwell, two brothers, Artie and Sterling Smith, one sister, Edith Smith, extended family, and many close friends who became family.
We learned so much from her during her 72 years here: if you save something long enough, you will have a use for it down the road. Don’t limit yourself to one book at a time, try two or three for variety. Cats make the best listeners.
A granny can never spoil her grandkids enough or drive them to too many places. Always trust God has a plan. Learn to make one party food and make it well, deviled eggs were hers. Find a sport you love, or love them all, but never be a Fair-weather fan, go Falcons! Lastly, love as much as you can, as big as you can, unconditionally. Dianne will forever be missed by those who knew her. As Dianne has said: “Celebrate me rather than a funeral to mourn me.” She has arrived at the pearly gates.
