Curtis Eugene Towles passed away Tuesday evening, June 13, 2023 after a brief illness at Piedmont Hospital. A Celebration of Life was held Monday, June 19, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at Real Life Church, 2491 Gray Highway, Macon.
Pastor Wilbur Greene, of New Damascus Baptist Church, did the eulogy and officiated. Interment followed at State Place Cemetery (Walker Pitts) in Gray.
Curtis was born April 25, 1938 to the late Milton and Mary J. Towles. He was self-employed as a logger for many years.
Later in life, he was employed by Southland Waste System, from where he eventually retired to spend more time with his family and engage in various outdoor activities. Eight siblings April 25, 1938 - June 13, 2023
preceded him in death.
Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife of 63 years, Ruby B. Towles; four sons, Terry (Sharon) Towles, Gray; Glenn (Adrianne) Towles, Kathleen; Christopher (Belinda) Towles, Centerville; and Cedric (Tammy) Towles, Eatonton.
He will be missed by his sons, wife, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
