Bobby Lee Kent passed away on Sunday evening, August 6, 2023, after a lengthy illness at Emory University Hospital Atlanta, Georgia. A memorial service was held Thursday, August 10, 2023, at First Baptist Church, West Clinton Street, Gray, Georgia at 3:00 p.m. with a visitation for family and friends prior to the service. Rev. Randy Darnell officiated.
Bobby was born on August 3, 1970, to the late Ruben Kent III and Marie Long Kent. He was a lifelong resident of Jones County and a graduate of Jones County High School. He was a proud Army veteran having served in Operation Iraqi Freedom in the 101st Airborne Division.
Bobby had a passion for carpentry and woodworking, having been his occupation for many years. On his off days and leisure time he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was a member of Haddock Baptist Church, Haddock, Georgia.
Bobby is survived by his son, Thomas (Haley) Kent, daughter, Anna Sandifer, sisters, Kathy (Al) Colter, Sabrina Kent Milner, brother, Eric (Jennifer) Kent, nephews and nieces, Jesse Colter, Jake Colter, Tyler Colter, Shane Milner, Logan Milner, Emily Kent, and Haley Kent.
Flowers will be accepted by the family in memory of Bobby Kent or you may make a donation in the memory of Bobby to Haddock Baptist Church, 180 Ethridge Road, Haddock, Georgia 31033 or First Baptist Church, 134 West Clinton Street, Gray, Georgia 31032.
