Marcia B. Rowland, born on August 24, 1946, in Kress, Texas, transitioned peacefully to eternal rest on December 12, 2023, in Macon, Georgia. A woman of unwavering faith, boundless love, and a generous spirit, Marcia’s life revolved around her devotion to her family and her faith. She had a special talent for teaching and sharing her wisdom and faith with others.
Her servant’s heart and genuine love for people were evident in the countless lives she touched.
Marcia was a dedicated member of Immanuel Baptist Church, where she found joy in her faith community.
Marcia’s journey was marked by a deep and abiding love for her family. She was a devoted wife to Wayne Rowland for 39 years and a loving mother to Paul Herin (Amy), Michele Barber (Frank), Kim Edwards (Doug), Jay Herin (Miki), Danny Rowland, and Sherri Queen (Brad). Marcia’s adoration extended to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, leaving a legacy of love and warmth that will endure for generations.
In addition to her husband and children, Marcia is survived by her grandchildren, Ben Herin (Thao), Daniel Herin (Bethany), Cristi Wainwright (Stephen), Ashley Davis (Omar), Richard DiPaolo (Amanda), Jacob DiPaolo (Ansley), Scarlet Dean (Jacob), Levi Barber (Lauren), Zack Edwards (Lisa), Aaron Edwards (Haley), Drew Herin, Emma Herin, Andrew Rowland (Maticyn),Chris Compton, Nick Compton (Abby), Finn Queen (Kamryn), and Collin Queen; great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Kensley, Rylee, Daniel Paul, Luke, Jack, Waylon, Dawson, Mara, Brody, Aria, Parker, and Millie; and brothers, Jim Dwight Bass and Steve Bass. As well as many loved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceded in death by her parents, E.O. Bass and Pauline Bass, and her brother Jerry Bass.
Marcia’s departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Yet, her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched with her kindness and wisdom. Family and friends were invited to pay their respects at Gray Memorial Chapel and Crematory on Friday, December 15, 2023, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and at Immanuel Baptist Church on Saturday, December 16, 2023, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A Celebration of Life service followed at Immanuel Baptist Church on Saturday at 2:00 pm, officiated by Rev. Jeff Duncan. Marcia was laid to rest at Middle Georgia Memory Gardens in Macon, Georgia.
