Mr. Louis Edward Kitchens, 82, of Jones County, was welcomed into his eternal home on Monday, August 26, 2024.
Funeral services were held at Hart’s Mortuary Jones County Chapel, Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 12:00p.m., with Pastor Danny Mundy and Brother Donnie Melton officiating.
The family greeted friends one hour prior to the service.
Louis was born in Macon, Georgia, to the late James and Rosa Kitchens. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy. Louis worked as a computer programmer and retired from the Bibb County Courthouse after thirty years. Louis was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church and will be remembered as a faithful servant of God.
His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of his day. He also enjoyed bowling and square dancing. Louis will be greatly missed by all those who loved and knew him.
In addition to his parents, Louis is preceded in death by his three brothers, Tommy, Buck, and Dink.
Louis is survived by his children, Kerri Lynn Kitchens, Sam Kitchens (Kari), Carol Kitchens Nesmith, Rosalyn L.
Adams (Jody); 6 grandchildren, Aleksa, Trapper (Jessica), Hughes (Evie), Koell (Graci), Cooper, and Harley (Mason); great-grandchildren, Araeyah, John, Lorelei, Samantha, Ivey, Jersey, Karsyn, Katarina, and Adelaide; one niece, and one nephew.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church at 4364 Upper River Road, Gray, Georgia 31032.
