The Gray Garden Club held its annual daylily contest June 7 at the W.E. Knox Civic Center with an estimated 100 entries received. The entry categories ranged from unnamed to all varieties. This year’s contest ended with a tie for first place. Lynn Edwards and Gregg Thompson shared that blue ribbon with second place awarded to Deon Hutchison and third place to Sarah Tidwell, who also won Best in Show. Edwards was named the Individual sweepstakes winner, and Autumn Lane was the business winner. The honor entry was submitted by May Nelson. At the conclusion of the judging, garden club members collectively agreed that everyone who entered was a winner.
