John Wayne Hubbard Sr. passed away Tuesday evening, March 7, 2023, surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy illness. A service of remembrance was held Monday, March 13, 2023, in the Chapel of Gray Memorial Chapel, 4378 Gray Highway, Gray, Georgia at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Greg Thompson officiating. Interment followed at Cedar Ridge Cemetery Greene Settlement Road, Gray.
John was born on July 3, 1957, to the late Bill and Barbara Faye Hubbard in Chateauroux, France. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brothers; Shorty Brooks, Michael Hubbard, and son in-law Terry Lee Burgamy Jr.
John was the owner of Hubbard’s Automotive for 43 years. He believed in hard work, loved his family, and fishing. John built his dream home and property, Twin Lakes, which he enjoyed and shared with others. He was true man’s man, enjoying the outdoors with his travel, hunting, boating, hiking, and antique cars.
He will be missed most by his children; son, John Wayne Hubbard Jr., daughters; Tonya July 3, 1957 - March 7, 2023
Burgamy (Troy Dufford), Wendy Walker (Shane), ex-wives; Patti Hubbard, and Tina Hubbard. stepson’s; Tai Trang, Loi Trang, Binh Trang, stepdaughters; Ngoc Manivanh, and Jadi Le; eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Jones County Animal Shelter, 1015 Monticello Highway, Gray, GA 31032. Gray Memorial Chapel is honored to be entrusted with the care of the John Wayne Hubbard Family.
