Joseph Daniel Chiles, 93, of Homer Chiles Road, died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022, at a local nursing home. Services will be private.
Mr. Chiles was born Aug. 19, 1929, in Jones County and had lived all over the world. He was the son of the late Homer Chiles, Sr. and Princess Brown Chiles. Mr. Chiles lived life to the fullest and was a welder by trade. His job took him all over the world building oil rigs, from the southwestern United States and even to Iran and Iraq. He was preceded in death by his sons: David Chiles and Danny Chiles and a brother: Peter Chiles.
Mr. Chiles is survived by his daughters: Sandy Russell and Kathy Fogarty; ten grandchildren; twenty- one great-grandchildren; nineteen great-great-grandchildren; sisters: Joyce Hatcher and Jewel McNeal.
