Patricia Poole Whidby passed away Wednesday morning, August 2, 2023, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. A visitation for family and friends was held Friday, August 4, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Gray Memorial Chapel 4378 Gray Highway Gray, Georgia 31032. A memorial service was held on Saturday August 5, 2023, at 11:00 AM with Elder Greg Weeks officiating.
A private interment followed at Pace-Whidby Cemetery for family only.
Patricia was born on September 15, 1941, to the late Benton Harris Poole and Rose Daly McNeely.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years Eddie N. Whidby, brothers, Michael Hudson, and Benton Poole. She was a 1959 graduate of Mt. de Sales Academy and a 1979 graduate of Macon Technical College with a LPN degree. Patricia was a member of the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall Joycliff Road Macon, Georgia. She loved her work and retired at seventy- eight years young.
Patricia and her sister Rowena traveled together extensively and were best friends. Vacations to Disney World, mountains, beach, New York and a nursing tour of Ireland were a part of there family Sept. 15, 1941 - Aug. 2, 2023
trips. She loved to sew, especially needle point, and crochet. Most of all, Patricia was a devoted loving mother to her children and grandchildren.
Patricia is survived by her son, Michael Whidby, daughters, Christine (Danny) Gay, and Lisa (Billy) Bowling, grandchildren, Jason (Jennifer) Thompson, Josh (Katherine) Thompson, Joseph Whidby, and Logan (Shelby) Jones.
Great grandchildren, Brian, Emily, Caroline, Beau, Tatum, and Brooks. Sister, Rowena Shadburn. Flowers will be accepted by the family in honor of Mrs. Whidby.
