Sidney “Buddy” Thomas Jackson, Jr., age 64, of Jones County, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. Buddy was born on January 1, 1960, in Macon, Georgia. A celebration of his life was held on Monday, November 18, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Plentitude Baptist Church, with Rev. Tommy Freeman, Rev. Danny Mundy, Rev. Mike Gordon, and Rev. Carol Mora officiating. Interment followed at the Gordon Family Cemetery. Visitation took place at Gray Memorial Chapel and Crematory, located at 4378 Gray Highway in Gray, Georgia, on Sunday, November 17, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Buddy was a beloved member of the Plentitude Baptist Church community. Known for his welcoming spirit, he truly never met a stranger and was a loyal fan of the Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta Falcons, and Jones County High School Greyhounds. Buddy’s warm presence and kind nature earned him the honor of being named Citizen of the Month, a testament to his positive impact on those around him. He cherished his family and friends, calling his sisters and close friends daily to share his love and brighten their days.

Buddy is survived by his loving sisters, Ruth Watson, Virginia McDade, Pat James, and Rosa Farmer; his special son, Melissa and Nelson Gordon; his special brother, Ken Skipper; and his adopted grandchildren, Emma Gordon, Colton Gordon, and Issac Gordon. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who will forever hold him in their hearts. Buddy was predeceased by his sister, Cathy Bates; niece, Lisa Farmer; brothers-in-law, Gilbert Watson, Robert McDade, Curtis James, and C.W. Farmer; and his parents, Sidney Jackson, Sr. and Catherine Jackson.
