Violet Canington Greene, 90, passed away, Monday, May 30, 2022, at a Dublin area personal care home. The family greeted friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., Sunday, June 5, 2022, at County Line Baptist Church in Lumpkin. Services followed at 1:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of the church, with interment at the church cemetery. Rev. Greg Cannington officiated.
Mrs. Greene was born January 9, 1932, in Lumpkin to the late Charles Henry Canington and Mary Virginia Hall Canington. She was a member at First Baptist Church of Gray and was a former office manager for Canington Law Office in Lumpkin. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were her husband of sixty-two years: Emmett Greene; daughter: Robin Greene Bennett; siblings: Lawrence Canington, Marguerite Hamner, Joyce Brown, Harold Canington, Lillian Shadrick, Virginia Franklin, Carolyn Goree, Miriam Dunahoo and Charlton Canington.
Children: Angela Good, Jeffrey Greene, (Eileen) and Christen Crews, (James); grandchildren: Lee Croxton (Jennifer), Leslie Moore (Tom), Gavin Lawless, Brandin Lawless, Kelsey Bennett (Travis), Emily Greene, Cage Mackey, Robin Mazzocchio and Ariana Mazzocchio; six great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sister: Thelma Lane.
