The Lady Greyhounds' best season in 20 years came to an end Saturday afternoon at the Akins Ford Arena in Athens as Jones County fell 69-49 to Kell, the state's second-ranked team in the AAAA classification.
The Lady Hounds were led by 21 points of Aubrey Norris and 14 by Kamiyah Adams.
JCHS rallied before halftime to lead 26-25 before being held to two points for nearly four minutes of the third quarter, leading to a 48-37 Longhorns lead going into the final quarter of play.
Jones County ends its season with an overall record of 25-6. Kell advances to play Marist in next week's state championship.
