Slow start sinks Greyhounds

The Greyhounds started slow out of the gate last Tuesday against ELCA, and it ended up costing Jones County dearly.The Greyhounds yielded a pair of first-half goals, one in the opening minutes against the Chargers before going on to lose 3-1 as ELCA added a goal in the closing minutes.

Greyhounds answer bell, win two in a row

After a pair of losses to regionleading Locust Grove last week, the Greyhounds reached what could be safely classified as a fork in the road for the 2026 season. Jones County’s response? To pick itself up off the mat with gusto.

Hounds, Lady Hounds win twiceTwo matches, two pairs of golfing wins for both the Greyhounds and Lady Greyhounds on the links. After both teams took wins last Wednesday against Alcovy and Locust Grove, it was followed up a day later against ELCA.

Hounds blank Woodland, edged late by unbeaten Locust Grove

Jones County built on its strong start to region play last week, blanking Woodland 11-0 before Monday’s 7-5 road loss to Locust Grove, who is unbeaten. That span ran the Diamond Hounds’ region record to 3-1 ahead of this Wednesday’s home contest against Locust Grove.
