Hounds showing progression, growth

Progress continues for the Greyhounds in the soccer arena as the season progresses. After a pair of losses the week before by or close to double digits, that gap closed significantly last week.

The weekend of March 27-28 will present three opportunities to support the Greyhound football program. Following the County Reunion event and reverse raffle on March 27, the Go Hounds Golf Tournament will be held on March 28 at Lake Jonesco Golf Club.The County Reunion will take place at 6 p.m.

Distance runners win big in Monticello

A reminder was laid out on Saturday in Monticello that Jones County’s distance runners are still among middle Georgia’s best.Competing at the Monticello Distance Meet, Jones County took first in five different high school events while also dominating the front end of multiple finishing orders.

Both the Greyhounds and Lady Greyhounds began the season with a handful of matches to prep for the start of region play, which began this past Tuesday. One of those matches was last Thursday as JCHS welcomed Taylor County to town for a non-region matchup.
