Mix of activity encompasses Hounds in return from break

The Greyhounds’ return from their second dead week of the summer was filled with a little bit of everything last week. JCHS stretched its collective legs out, being scheduled to travel south to Houston County for a joint workout with Veterans, but the week was not all work.

The proverbial green light went on Monday with the GHSA’s second dead week of the summer coming to an end, and the Lady Greyhounds were among those eager to get going. Following a busy month of June, Monday’s voluntary workouts saw around 15 Lady Hounds getting work in.

YOUTH SIGN-UPS

Football, Cheerleading Registrations are still being accepted for youth football and cheerleading for this fall’s season in Jones County. Registration is $130 per person and is open through Aug. 1. There will be a mandatory uniform fitting, and a birth certificate should be brought when signing up.

Last summer, the commitment of Jones County to the sport of pickleball was front and center when the ribbon cutting for the six pickleball courts at the Morris Bank Recreation Complex was held. The result since then has been a significant return on investment.
