Volley Hounds’ historic season comes to an end

The Volley Hounds season may have ended last Thursday in heartbreaking fashion in a pair of close losses in the region tournament, but the pair of setbacks came at the end of what was a recordbreaking season for the sport that capped off its third year at JCHS.

Hounds looking to bounce back following loss to Ola

The Greyhounds 16-game region winning streak came to an end Friday at Greyhound Field as visiting Ola’s touchdown with 1:55 to play was the game-winning score in a 22-15 defeat dealt to the Greyhounds. And although that winning streak may be over, Jones County’s fate is fully within its hands.

Lady Hounds sail into region tourney on high note

With a pair of region victories last week, the Lady Greyhounds rolled into this week’s region tournament. Not only that, but Thursday’s thrilling 7-6 win at Union Grove improved Jones County’s draw for the double-elimination region tourney, which began Tuesday.

Keeping on rolling: Greyhounds first, Lady Hounds third in Bleckley

On Oct. 22, the Greyhounds and Lady Greyhounds will aim for a region title on their home course, so these next few weeks are key in terms of firing up a steam of momentum going into that weekend. That path continued last Thursday at the Bleckley County Invitational.
Jones County’s Cheerleading programs will host their friends and family night on Oct. 17 at 6:45 p.m. at the JCHS Gymnasium. The event, with an admission of $5 per person, will include performances from the JCHS and JCMS Competition Cheer squads as well as those from Gray Elementary and Dames Ferry Elementary. CONTRIBUTED

WARNER ROBINS - The Volley Hounds got what any team is looking for in the latter part of the regular season last Tuesday when it won a region match against Dutchtown. The win was not only Jones County’s first against Dutchtown but also the first against a team from Henry County in varsity play.
