Rigor pays off as Hounds win two straight

If the early part of the Greyhounds’ region schedule isn’t anything else, it’s at least one filled with rigor.Through five region games, Jones County has played the region’s top two teams, Locust Grove and Eagles Landing.

From the standpoint of competition, it’s arguable that the Greyhound wrestlers by far faced their toughest challenge last weekend just outside of Greenville, SC. The Southern Slam presented the toughest overall field of wrestlers for Jones County.

Jones County’s middle school wrestlers came home from a northward trip on Saturday with a runner-up finish in the Junior Bobcats Dual at Clear Creek Middle School in Ellijay.

CRMS basketball splits

Dawgs roll Tide in SEC championship

Georgia dominated Alabama from start to finish Saturday in the SEC Championship game. The No. 3 Bulldogs (12-1) avenged an earlier regular-season loss to No. 9 Alabama (10-3) with a 28-7 victory at Mercedes-Benz Stadium this past Saturday to secure their second consecutive conference title.
