Greyhounds top Demons in OT, fall to Kendrick

If there was ever a week of basketball with a bit of everything, last week was it for the Greyhounds. On Tuesday, Jones County got its first win of the season, claiming a 58-54 win at Warner Robins.

Clifton Ridge sweeps Gray Station

Clifton Ridge Middle secured a sweep of its cross-county rival at the JCHS Gymnasium last Tuesday. Supporters of both teams seized the opportunity to take advantage of watching at the high school, which has a greater seating capacity than both middle school gyms.

The Volley Hounds, following the most successful season in team history, presented their team awards at their recent awards banquet.

Ten Lady Hounds collect all-region honors

A total of 10 Lady Greyhounds have been named to the GHSA Region 2-AAAA all-region team with seven being firstteam selections.Raylee Harris, Myah Briscoe, and Ensley Barnes were first-team infield selections with first-team outfield selections being Marissa Moore, Genna Maki, and Rylee Johnson.

Williams, Hammond, Watts lead Greyhounds’ on all-region team

A total of 13 Greyhounds were named GHSA Region 2-AAAA all-region selections, three being first-team picks. Those first-team selections were tight end Drew Williams, kicker Jacob Watts, and offensive lineman Alex Hammond.

Greyhounds take first at invitational

Next week is one of the busiest ones of the early part of the Greyhound wrestling season with one dual tournament followed by the annual outdoor match in downtown Gray on Saturday.

Middle School Wrestlers Win Turkey Takedown

Jones County’s Middle School Wrestlers claimed a big early-season win on the road Saturday, taking first in the Turkey Takedown Tournament in LaGrange. 

Greyhounds leaning to trio of seniors

With their third head coach in three seasons, the Greyhounds find themselves in a mode of transition. That load is made much easier for new head coach Dylan Dupree with three seniors aboard that have a wealth of experience in Rudy Bowden, Sheldon Jackson and Justin Ray.
