Youth football sign-ups open through Aug. 1

The deadline of Aug. 1 remains as the deadline to sign up for this fall’s Jones County Youth football leagues. Football is open to ages 5-12 with girls flag football for those aged 7-14 while cheerleading is open to ages 5-14.

A season in which the Lady Greyhounds were two overtime losses from being region champions has drawn accolades from GHSA Region 2-AAAA.Jones County, which returned to the state playoffs this past spring, had four players named all-region, led by region defensive player of the year Cadence Tanner.
