The sights, sounds, and sensations of spring took over Highway 49 Ballpark on Saturday morning as play across four fields kicked off the 2026 season.

Gray Station Middle School reigned supreme against Clifton Ridge last Thursday, building on an early lead to win 7-2 in a game played at Highway 18 Ballpark. Both teams are set to conclude the regular season this week.

Lady Hounds stay in position to fight for region title

After a lull in the rigor of the schedule, the make-or-break portion of the season has arrived for the Lady Greyhounds.Jones County’s hope of a region title or even a first-round home match in the state tournament hangs in the balance for the Lady Hounds in the current stretch of the season.

Slow start sinks Greyhounds

The Greyhounds started slow out of the gate last Tuesday against ELCA, and it ended up costing Jones County dearly.The Greyhounds yielded a pair of first-half goals, one in the opening minutes against the Chargers before going on to lose 3-1 as ELCA added a goal in the closing minutes.

Greyhounds answer bell, win two in a row

After a pair of losses to regionleading Locust Grove last week, the Greyhounds reached what could be safely classified as a fork in the road for the 2026 season. Jones County’s response? To pick itself up off the mat with gusto.
