The Greyhounds showed a good share of flash and pop from their running game in Friday’s seasonopener against Valdosta, ripping off a pair of long touchdown runs of more than 50 yards.Trouble was, Valdosta — more critically, Marquis Fennell — had a lot of offensive speed to burn.

Thursday night, Jones County players and coaches cheered on four of their own in a wingeating contest of wings from Zaxby’s in Gray.
