There’s no summer break when it comes to recreational softball in Jones County.Another season of the fun and fellowship that comes with men’s church league softball began last week at the Morris Bank Recreation Complex with a total of four games on both Monday and Wednesday.

Hounds place in state’s top 10, eager for what’s ahead

The Greyhounds concluded the golf season with an overall finish of 10th in last week’s GHSA Class AAAA State Tournament. That placed Jones County among the state’s final top 10.But for the JCHS golf program, it’s not seen as much as an end of a journey but a beginning.

District all-star play underway with two at home

Late May once again means the start of all-star baseball and softball tournaments, and two teams will be able to play close to home.District tournaments for both coach pitch softball and rookie baseball will be hosted in Jones County.

Norris signs with Albany State University

The celebration was two-fold last week for Aubrey Norris. On Friday at Greyhound Field, she joined the rest of the 2026 graduation class of Jones County High School during graduation ceremonies.A few days earlier, Norris’ basketball future was cemented.

J-Day Scrimmage gives glimpse into 2026 campaign

Segment by segment, Greyhounds are building toward August.The latest rung was climbed last week with spring practice concluding, first with Tuesday’s J-Day Scrimmage followed by one more practice to wrap up Jones County’s spring.This year’s edition of the intrasquad game was split down the middle.
