James Clark has enjoyed three different careers totaling about 57 years, and he continues working today, mostly without pay.Clark, 78, is a Vietnam vet, a former Kaolin company foreman, and a 22-year Jones County deputy, retiring in 2023.

Thomas L. Collum is the local veteran of the week. He served in the U.S. Army from June 1942 to October 1945. He was a tech sergeant and received jungle combat training in Panama; he was also assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 81st Infantry, Pacific Command Headquarters in the Philippines.

Winners were Deon Hutcheson, first place; Greg Thompson, second place; and Lynn Edwards, third place; Best in Show: Deon Hutcheson, first place; and Marcia Whidby, second place. CONTRIBUTED
