Jones County showed up for the May 19 ribbon-cutting celebrating the opening of Rancher’s, located at 615 Landmark Pointe Blvd. in Gray. The 7,000-squarefoot convenience store and fueling station opened it doors to customers May 18. Rancher’s is owned by Dylan and TJ Heath (center). The store is the third business in phase one of Landmark Point, following Scooter’s Coffee Shop and Suds Bucket Car Wash. For more information about Rancher’s, call 478-607-2484. Jones County Commissioners honored law enforcement officers and discussed a possibility of an open container ordinance at their recent business meeting. The May 16 meeting was called to order by Chairman Chris Weidner, and the opening prayer and pledge were led by Commissioner Sam Kitchens.

All JCHS welding students who take test are certified

A small ceremony was held last week to recognize a big accomplishment for 16 welding students at Jones County High School. The students underwent testing by a technical trainer with Norfolk Southern, and all 16 passed the tests.
