A defendant in a 2020 arson that took place at a senior apartment complex in Gray entered a guilty plea in Jones County Superior Court. Brandon James Morton pleaded guilty to all three counts for which he was charged in the Feb. 16 proceeding.

Lay indicted for shooting that resulted in murder

Murder charges were among those brought back by a Jones County Grand Jury Feb. 6. Rashad Anthony Lay was indicted on charges of malice murder, felony murder and aggravated assault due to the shooting death of 32-year-old Trentarius Jade Greene. The shooting happened in Haddock Oct. 4, 2022.
