Jones County High School holds hygiene drive

The Jones County High School Hygiene Drive started Feb. 1. JROTC Greyhound Battalion has teamed up with the Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA), the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), and the Career and Technical Instruction (CTI) to conduct the hygiene drive.

Council begins approval for special event alcohol sales

Gray City Council had the first reading of two ordinances that would approve alcohol sales and consumption in a new arts and entertainment district in the city, extended the moratorium on sewer connections and approved a bid to repair the roof on the D.V.

Ambi Rae and Allure now open

Ambi Rae Boutique and Allure Beauty Bar will have opened Aug. 13, providing clothing and beauty to the community of Jones County. Both businesses are located at 109 Atlanta Road in downtown Gray. Ambi Rae will be open Tuesday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Scholarships available for Jones County students through CFCG

Jones County students can now apply for scholarships for the 20232024 academic year through the Community Foundation of Central Georgia’s scholarship program. The annual program consists of scholarship funds established by individual donors so each has its own specific criteria and requirements.
