Stone Gable Farm, a local beef farm, sells to residents around the area, and keeps their cows happy while doing so. Chris Weidner, the farm owner, said he’s lived in Jones County since the late 1960s.

BOE members sworn in to begin 2023

The Jones County Board of Education began 2023 by swearing in three board members who were reelected to their posts in the May non-partisan election. Board Chairman Ginger Bailey was the first to receive her oath of office from Probate Judge Lewis Patterson at the Jan. 10 Board meeting.

Lichens are everywhere

We have entered into the time of year where I get called or emailed about these fuzzy or fluffy green things growing on trees or shrubs. What you are seeing is a lichen (pronounced like-en). Right now, you will literally find these organisms on anything and everything.
