Man halts assault after being struck by hammer

A domestic dispute resulted in a felony arrest for aggravated assault when it got physical and required intervention from a third party at the scene. Shawn Kentrell Bryant, 36, was arrested July 18 and charged with two counts of aggravated assault under the family violence act.

JME Excavation, a local excavation company, is available to help Jones County residents with their excavation needs. John McIntosh, the owner of JME Excavation, lives in Gray. He said he likes Jones County, because that’s all he really knows. He said his family really loves living in the county.

Candidate for Georgia House District 133 arrested for DUI

Kenneth Austin Vance, who is the school safety director for Putnam County Charter School System and also a Republican candidate for the Georgia House District 133 seat, was arrested last month for DUI. The district includes large portions of Jones and Baldwin counties.
