Felony murder charge among 19 indictments

A Jones County Grand Jury brought back 19 true bills out of the 19 bills of indictment considered June 28, including a felony murder charge. Other crimes charged in the indictments include drugs, identity fraud, child molestation, theft, burglary, obstruction and aggravated assault.

Independence Day celebrated with community

The Jones County/Gray Chamber of Commerce held its fourth annual Independence Day Extravaganza at the Morris Bank Recreation Complex on June 30, celebrating the country’s independence with the entire community.

Contraband of ‘Grizzly’ nature found in trash can

The attempt to pass prohibited items to Jones County inmates is an ongoing issue that appears to center around an outside trash can. A report by Jones County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Crystal Murphy describes one of the more curious attempts.
