Nativity comes to life in Gray this weekend

The Live Nativity at Gray Methodist Church is this weekend with a hint of the addition of a couple of surprise animal characters.The annual nativity will be presented Dec. 12-14 from 6-9 p.m. The church is located at 121 Gordon St.

Malone says faith, family, sports a big part of her life

Edna Malone acknowledges she has had some struggles in her life, but there have been success stories as well.Malone lost one of her children, Dale Doster, to a vehicle accident in 1979 when he was just nine years old. There have been issues with marriages as well.

It is hard to believe its that time again with Christmas decorations everywhere and annual holiday events in full swing.

Calvin W. Avant is the local veteran of the week. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1966 to 1969. After completing his basic training in San Diego, California, he was assigned to an aircraft carrier, the USS Hancock, where he served three tours in Vietnam as an AB3 petty officer third class.
