Hugh Baker is the local veteran of the week. He was born Aug.14, 1916, in Cedeartown and was inducted into the U.S. Army Air Force at Fort McPherson on Jan. 27, 1942. He did his basic training at Kessler Field, Mississippi, then was assigned to Fort Logan, Colorado for Air Force clerical school.
