Commissioners rescind data center amendment

The Jones County Board of Commissioners dealt with zoning requests, cleaned up one text amendment and approved beginning another at their first meeting in November.Chairman Chris Weidner called the Nov. 4 meeting to order. The chairman also led the opening prayer and pledge.

Suicide Prevention Coalition holds quarterly meeting

Jones County Coalition members considered the direction for year two of a new contract with Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Development Disabilities at its October meeting.The goal of the organization is to bring awareness to the issue and reduce the number of suicides in Jones County.

Pilot Club donates to food pantry

The Pilot Cub’s October project was donations to Sonrise Ministry and Pantry. Members brought contributions to the Oct. 28 meeting, and items were delivered the following day. We were graciously received, and after everything was unloaded, we got to see the food pantry and the refrigerator.

“the works of God should be made manifest in him” (Jn 9:3) The blind beggar was born blind by God’s design. It was all God’s doing for a work of God in his life; that on a specific day this beggar would cease to be blind and would leave his begging ways behind.

Veterans celebrated at annual event

This year’s Veterans Appreciation Day once again enjoyed beautiful weather and paid tribute to all who served in any branch of the U.S. Military.
