Basketball sign up ongoing
Registration is ongoing for basketball with the Jones County Parks & Recreation Department. The preseason clinics for those signed up will be on Oct. 23 and 30 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. for ages 5-8 and 4:30-5:30 p.m. for ages 9 to 15. Tryouts are from Oct. 26 to Nov. 9 with the season beginning Dec.

Sanford gains preseason All-State recognition
Jones County guard Jaylen Sanford has garnered all-state attention prior to the start of the season. Sanford has been named a second-team selection by Sandy’s Speil. The Greyhounds scrimmage Peach County Nov. 5 and open the season Nov. 11 at the Ricky Moore Invitational with both the Greyhounds and Lady Hounds playing host to the Hooping In Middle Georgia Invitational Nov. 12.
