YOUNG PERFORMERS
In a magical kingdom beneath the sea lives a beautiful young mermaid with an enchanting voice. Ariel longs to leave her ocean home, but what price will she pay to explore the shores above? She will have to defy the king of the sea, escape the clutches of an evil sea witch, and convince a prince that she is the girl with the perfect voice. With the help of her best fishfriend Flounder, know-it-all Scuttle the seagull, and the musical sea crab Sebastian, will Ariel finally get to be “Part of Your World”?

The Little Mermaid is Jones County Arts’ nineteenth musical production and features veteran Jones County Arts performers and many new, young performers. Eleven-year-old Reese Bishop plays Flounder, and she says, “It’s a lot of work but a lot of fun. Whatever character you get, it doesn’t matter, you have a blast!” Sixteen-year-old Leah Ward plays Aquata, and she says, “I have been participating in JCA since fourth grade. It helps me get out of my comfort zone, and I have made friends that will last a lifetime. I look forward to this show and all the future JCA shows.” The Little Mermaid is nine-year-old Jolie’s first production with Jones County Arts, and she says, “My favorite things about the play are being able to spend time with friends, meeting new people, and getting to be in many scenes, which is an honor. My favorite scene is “Human Stuff” because I love the dance moves and I love the songs.” The cast is excited to present The Little Mermaid to the public and they have been working hard to produce an excellent performance. Of course, none of it would be possible without our wonderful Director, Mrs. Lisa Mullis, and Music Director. Mrs. Mystee Wilcox. You will not want to miss this magical production, so be sure to get your tickets today.
