There’s a measurable level of excitement for the Lady Greyhounds, who are scheduled to open the season at home next Thursday against FPD and ACE Charter.
That anticipation accelerated a bit more on Monday night as the Volley Hounds held their first official practice at Gray Station Middle School, which has served as their home away from home during a summer of workouts while the JCHS Gymnasium has been under renovation.
“They’ve been so gung-ho, they’ve just been so excited for it to get here,” Lady Greyhounds Leah Bodnarchuk said. “They’re just ready.”
The Lady Hounds’ preseason moved up another level with this past Tuesday’s scrimmage, leading up to next week’s opener. That’ll be followed by the Southside Classic in Locust Grove on Aug. 9 prior to a region-opening tri-match on the road against Hampton and Locust Grove.
“They’re ready to go,” Bodnarchuk said.
